Extend the toolkitAvailable in v0.3.0

Use it with any AI setup

The oah command drives Claude Code and Codex CLI today, but its ideas work with one AI or several, including other tools and harnesses. Take the parts you need — leases, engine stages, evidence gates, the impact map, the wiki, the review loop — and give each stage to the AI that suits you.

When you need it

Not everyone uses the same AI tools, and a harness that only works as one fixed bundle forces you to adopt all of it or nothing.

How it works

  1. Stages map to engines in [stages] of .oah/config.toml; the defaults are initial = "claude", review = "codex" and correction = "codex".
  2. A call for the wrong engine at a stage is refused (OAH_STAGE_ENGINE_MISMATCH) unless you pass --override-stage, which is recorded.
  3. If you already use other AI tools or another harness, read how oah handles leases, engine stages, evidence gates, the impact map, the wiki and the review loop, and carry over only the ideas that fit.
  4. The rules are written down in the plan (docs/PLAN.md) so they can be copied as ideas, not only as code.

Example

Which engine does which stage, in `.oah/config.toml` (from Concepts).

[stages]
initial = "claude"
review = "codex"
correction = "codex"

Requirements

  • The oah command itself needs Claude Code and Codex CLI for implementation, review and correction.

Limits and recovery

  • oah drives only Claude Code and Codex CLI today; using other tools means adapting the ideas yourself.
  • The default split is the author's experience, not a measured comparison.
  • With one engine doing both writing and reviewing, review receipts honestly say the review was not independent.
